We got into the swing of things the third week of school! This week was all about us and our home. We learned about the letter Hh and Bb, practiced our pre-reading skills, built houses, created an Adventures of Me & Mini Me book, and got to celebrate a birthday. Take a closer look at our exciting week!
Monday was a busy day! We began the week by working on our fine motor skills when we practiced cutting with our scissors.
We also got out our playdough mats for the first time and worked on our number sense.
Senora Hillary and Senora Emily came to teach us Spanish. We loved singing songs about animals, colors, and our feelings.
We had fun celebrating a friend's birthday and got to enjoy some ninja cupcakes!

On Tuesday, we learned about the letter Hh. Here's how we read it, built it and wrote it.
We practiced some pre-reading skills in our literacy center. We loved following along, taking turns to read, and searching for letter Hh in our story.
We also enjoyed a nice day outside with our friends!

On Wednesday, we began our day by practicing our colors and shapes with one of our favorite puzzles on the rug. Our class does a great job of working together!
Our leader led us during calendar time. We sang our "Days of the Week" song to help us figure out which day it was.

We talked about our home and read a story about a boy who built an amazing house (If I Built a House by Chris Van Dusen). Next, we enjoyed building in our rug center.
We also got to build houses out of different shapes. We talked about our addresses and where we live.
Our final step to our Me and Mini Me adventure was to illustrate a page for our book.
We had lots of creative ideas of things to do with our Mini Me friends.

On Thursday, we talked about the letter Bb! Our class was impressive with all the Bb words they thought of.
We decorated our letter "B" with buttons. While we worked we talked about LOTS of other words that begin with B!
We got to paint beautiful pictures.
After snack time, we went outside to bounce balls and blow bubbles.
Friday was fun! We got a visit from our music teacher, Ms. Becca, who came to teach us and another class of friends.
Next, we did a name activity by covering our names with colorful squares. Our names transformed from boring to beautiful!
