Can you believe Christmas is almost here?
We spent this week enjoying the season and our time together before our break.

We read and colored a "Green Light, Green Light" book in our literacy center.
We worked on lowercase letter recognition.

On our rug center, we used our hand/eye coordination during a fun game
of candy cane fishing.

We engineered some interesting creations using toothpicks and marshmallows.

We practiced our cutting skills to help decorate our room with colorful Christmas lights.
It was fun wrapping gifts all by ourselves!

On Thursday we got to celebrate with some serious decorating of our "Christmas tree" cones. We enjoyed an exciting book exchange and we ended this special day with our Christmas party!

We hope you and your families have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Week 13: December 5-9

Our classroom felt a little like Santa's workshop this week!
We looked through Christmas catalogs and searched for things we wanted to give as a gift to someone. We colored, cut, and discussed the importance of thinking about others when we give a gift.

The glitter came out to help us make some angel ornaments.
We put together candy canes by creating a pattern.
We had to use our writing skills when we wrote a letter to Santa.
It tickled our fingers when Ms. Didi painted them for an ornament.
We learned how to wrap a gift.
We used our counting skills to decorate our gift bags. Children lined up circles (4,3,2,1) to create a triangular Christmas tree on their bags.

We got creative when making Christmas cards.

It was nice to enjoy some outside time after a few rainy days.

We ended our week by rolling, cutting and decorating our own sugar cookies to enjoy.

 Christmas cookie time!
