February 20-24

Monday was Presidents' Day and we hope you enjoyed your day off. We prepared for the holiday by dressing the part. See how Presidential we look!?!?!?!

The highlight of this week was definitely our Donuts With Daddy celebration! Thank you to all the Dads, Uncles, and special guests who ROCK!  The children were SO excited to bring their special guests with them to school.

We introduced two new sight words (is, and) this week and worked on the concept of a word.  We were so excited to read a book by ourselves and to take the book home to practice!

The 100th day of school is coming soon.  We've been busy practicing our counting skills!

Of course we had fun preparing our March calendars and placemats this week. Can you believe March is almost here?

Fun with our friends!

February 13-17th

We LOVED celebrating Valentine's Day this week!

We read the The Biggest Valentine Ever and got to work painting our very own BIG Valentines. Painting on easels was fun!

A special visitor stopped in to meet our class and an excited new owner was happy to tell us about her puppy!
We learned a trick of how to cut out heart shapes.
Look at these cutting skills!

It was fun exploring and measuring in our new February sensory bin.
We practiced writing "I love you" to add a special message to our BIG Valentines!

On Valentine's Day, we worked on name recognition skills as we passed out Valentines for our friends.

We played Valentine Bingo and listened carefully for the numbers and colors that were called. When we got five candy hearts in a row...BINGO!

Happy Valentine's Day from our class!
It was really exciting to see all the notes, cards, and treats from our friends!

Our Valentine party got a thumbs up! Thank you to everyone for making our celebration a success!

After Valentine's Day, we got to work on our literacy skills. Ms. Kathleen visited our class to practice rhyming words.
During center time, we used our "looking eyes" to help us read some sight word phrases. Ms. Jen was really impressed with our reading skills!

Ms. Didi helped us use a fun Spin Art machine for a special project. It was exciting to watch the paint as we dropped it onto the spinning paper.

We LOVED having another fun week with our friends at school!

Hope your Valentine's week was sweet!
